We are team of 5 partners working on the same thing, but independently, everybody with different working fields and objectives.
Investigation is based on private funded initiatives and practical approaches, with 6 years experience in onsite consulting, meaning that every idea will be discussed only with partners, actual and potential customers and is heading for individual solutions and does not spread by commercializing the idea. Some things we cannot share with everybody and also we are not big enough to think of it.
Since 6 years now we work on Microbiology – time enough to get things understand.
We do regular analytics with own methods and for special parameters we use certificated and independent laboratories. This makes the whole thing more trustful.

Generally we do an onsite visit to evaluate the biogas plant and discuss the most important issues for good production. It will not be possible to get all things cleared and analyzed at once, but it is very likely to give some first help in optimization.
We recommend to do the basic analyses and recheck it after some adjustments.
Together we must detect how much challenge the process can afford and how much can be increased the feeding or the energy performance in a repowering action. There is a lot of potential in biology. Think of this! Often it is cheaper and more clear to build another digester for the long run, but there are cheaper methods for the middle run. Think of how much money you want to bind. Think of return on investment instead of reinvestment. One day you also want to earn money and not reinvest all the time …
Another good way to optimize organic breakdown or cracking fibre material is a desintegration system. The more „kinetic“ energy input you have (e.g. steam explosion, cavitation), the more likely it is that cell fluid is released for a faster degradation with more biogas yield. Cutting and breaking down with knives and other milling and grinding devices, is more convenient if you do this in the field with your harvester and not with an extra system in the periphery of the feeding system. We´d like to provide you the best information to balance the reasons for investment cost and benefit expectations.
This is a laboratory tool in molecular biology, that can give conclusion about bacteria populations and their activity. We use it in case of disturbances in the process that are not shown by normal analytics and for testing new interventions in the process, like changing biological parameters (e.g. temperature) or by adding different input or additives. Some bacterial interactions can be improved or accelerated, but most of them carry out a complex chain of reactions and are not to be controlled. So a variety of microorganisms coexist in anaerobic digesters and their concerted activity is necessary for the complete conversion of organic materials to methane.
The principle of the test: By doing the molecular analysis on DNA and RNA level, not only the total number of involved bacteria can be discovered but also the activity and so the level of efficiency. For example we could imply that in a balanced community of hydrogenotrophic and acetoclastic methanogens, the methane output is the highest. Then we take a sample of the process and we compare it with our data base.
This is our most interesting project and under practical use now in a 500KW biogas plant. It is about a device that transmit data from the inside of
the digester. With a special marker and lance-shaped sensors, going inside the digester´s wall, it tells us about internal sedimentation and layer structure and makes these data visually kept in a software model. By doing this, we will be able to understand the moving of material in the digester to detect dead zones, low and high temperature areas and deficient agitating and feeding techniques.
We already offer a floating ball (traxmon® wireless sensors), that transmit temperature from the surface of the digester to your mobile phone. This device consists of a wireless chip and a receiver, collecting data for approx. 2-3 month. It provides online data, simultaneously featured in a diagram, telling about the correctness of the facility´s sensors (mostly measured near the concrete wall), or wether the temperature distribution is OK. Interesting is to know if the digester is vulnerable to changing climate, feeding or feeding intervals.

+Why supporting the digester´s biology?
Every Biogas process is determined by underlying conditions, like composition of feed, nutrients, temperature, pH level etc. and thus forming an unique community of bacteria: With specialists and generalists, fast and slow, „lone fighters“ and those who work in a team. All this might slow down the biogas process, because it is a complex long way to our end product CH4. To improve this and for a faster degradation hence it is necessary to support certain degradation steps additionally – apart from nutrition and basic knowledge of fermentation processes.
Stimulating bacteria´s metabolism and activity in order to get a higher reproduction rate in bacteria´s population and thus more enzyme secretion. You can achieve this by our additive Methana ProBios. Additionally more bacteria mass reduces the vulnerability towards stress factors like ammonia, H2S, toxins or changing conditions (feeding, temperature, etc).
By using ProBios all biological processes go faster, so the degradation rate is increasing. Biogas plants with high loading rates, or slowly degradable substrate (like high fiber or protein content) benefit from it.

With a modern IR camera we make a 1-2 hour visit on your facility and detect gas leaks with out interrupting any production. Only by checking the back coming air from the outer roof, we need to stop the blower.

Early last year the project of a small size biogas plant for normal households started. The principal idea was to reduce organic waste fraction in the daily waste bin and secondly having biogas for heating and cooking. Many modern households especially in the cities are not encouraged to separate the organic fraction, so it´ll be dumped together with the normal waste. In really encouraged families, they use to bring it to the public container, but often are faced with the bin´s „vitality and odors“. By using the food waste for the biogas production the digested output is more easy in handling and can be stored as concentrated fertilizer. The growing number of vegetarians also indicates, that the waste bin is getting filled more and more with vegetable waste.
The household biogas process can be compared with an aquarium from the working intensity and knowledge point of view. You need to care about the biological process like you care for water quality and reproduction of your breeding fish. If bacteria doesn´t like the conditions (food waste amount and composition, temperature, biological parameters, mixing) it will not die immediately, but will reduce or stop working properly and production is not satisfying. Once the process is ill you need to know how to react and reactivate biology. Like in every biological process this cannot happen immediately.
